Privacy

Rulessa currently stores gameplay preferences and Daily progress locally in your browser. This includes accessibility display and motion settings, tutorial completion, streak dates, and best mastery results. Accessibility preferences stay on your device and do not record a disability or medical information.

No account is required and the game does not ask for your precise location. If you choose to use the contact form, Rulessa processes the name, email address, subject, and message you provide so the team can receive and respond to your request. The email delivery provider may process and retain that submission as part of delivering it. Contact submissions are not used for advertising.

Rulessa uses privacy-focused, cookieless measurement to understand overall site traffic and performance. It is not used to identify you, record your contact-form message, build advertising profiles, or sell personal information.

For acquisition and product measurement, Rulessa may keep the Rulessa page associated with the current or most recent external entry, a coarse referral category such as direct, search, social, internal, or other referral, sanitized campaign tags supplied in standard UTM parameters, and a two-letter country code derived from network request metadata when a new anonymous gameplay session starts. Campaign tags are limited to short letters, numbers, dots, underscores, tildes, and hyphens; arbitrary query-string values are rejected. Rulessa may retain first-touch and most-recent campaign tags in browser storage for up to 90 days so campaign performance can be compared across return visits. The coarse referral category may be derived from referral information supplied with the page request or by the browser. The full referring address, search query, ad click IDs, advertising identifiers, unsanitized UTM values, and other arbitrary URL parameters are not retained with gameplay records.

When anonymous gameplay measurement is enabled, Rulessa may process limited information about the puzzle context, interactions, hint use, outcome, current Daily streak on a completed Daily puzzle, landing page, coarse acquisition source, campaign tags, and country code. The streak value is based on progress stored in that browser and is used as an aggregate engagement metric; without an account it is not a cross-device identity or authoritative user record. This information is used only to understand aggregate product usage and acquisition performance, does not require an account, is not designed to identify you, and is never sold or used to build advertising profiles. Rulessa does not request device location, store precise coordinates, city, region, postal code, or retain the IP address with gameplay records. Other network information used temporarily to protect the service is not retained with gameplay records.

Raw gameplay records become eligible for automatic deletion after 90 days. De-identified aggregate statistics may be kept longer, and comparisons are published only when enough verified results exist to protect privacy and reliability. Gameplay and acquisition measurement are never used for advertising, and a measurement failure never interrupts the game.

Native sharing is initiated only when you choose a Share action. A result share may include a locally generated Rulessa result image and a Rulessa link or QR code with campaign tags identifying it as a Rulessa share. Your device controls the destination. Clearing browser storage removes locally saved Rulessa progress and locally retained campaign attribution.
