What is Rulessa?

Rulessa is a browser-based logic puzzle game. You swap nine tiles until every row and column satisfies its clue, while trying to solve the board in as few moves as possible.

Is Rulessa free?

Yes. Rulessa is currently free to play in your browser, and advertising is disabled.

Is there a new Rulessa puzzle every day?

Yes. Daily mode uses a new puzzle for each UTC calendar day, so players share the same Daily puzzle identity for that day.

Do I need an account to play Rulessa?

No. Rulessa does not require an account, email address, or sign-in to play.

Can I play Rulessa on a phone or tablet?

Yes. Rulessa is designed to run in modern mobile and desktop web browsers with JavaScript enabled.

What is the difference between Daily and Practice?

Daily gives you the puzzle for that UTC day and contributes to your Daily completion and streak. Practice lets you keep solving additional puzzles and choose the difficulty you want to play.

Can a puzzle have more than one answer?

Yes. Every accepted answer must satisfy all six row and column clues. Par is calculated against the closest valid answer, not a hidden preferred layout.

Why didn’t three matching tiles pass “Exactly 2 same”?

Because that clue requires one pair plus one different tile. “All same” is the clue for three matching tiles.

Does a hint affect my score?

A hint solves and locks one line. Hint-assisted solves can still finish the puzzle but earn one mastery star.

What is stored?

Your tutorial status, Daily completion, best stars, and streak are stored in this browser. Privacy-focused, cookieless measurement may be used to understand overall traffic and site performance without recording your puzzle choices or identifying you. Advertising remains disabled.
