A calmer way to solve

Logic puzzle strategies for beginners

Rulessa is easier when each swap has a reason. You do not need to picture the complete answer immediately. Improve the most constrained parts of the grid, then use their intersections to narrow the remaining choices.

1. Start with the strongest clue

All same and lines with two conditions usually restrict the board more than a single Exactly 2 same clue. Begin where fewer tile combinations can work.

2. Look at intersections

Every tile belongs to one row and one column. A promising tile should help both lines—or at least avoid breaking a line that already works. The centre tile is especially influential because it sits in the middle row and middle column.

3. Find a line that is one tile away

If two tiles already satisfy the direction of a clue, search the rest of the board for a third tile with the needed Colour, Shape, or Pattern. This turns a vague puzzle into a specific swap.

4. Compare both sides of a swap

Before moving a tile, ask two questions: “What does this tile fix?” and “What happens where it came from?” A useful swap improves one or more clues without creating a harder problem elsewhere.

5. Protect completed lines carefully

A completed line is valuable information, but it is not automatically untouchable. Move one of its tiles only when the replacement preserves all of that line’s conditions.

6. Use checks as evidence

Check my answer is most useful after a deliberate sequence of swaps. Treat every passing row or column as confirmed structure, then focus on the remaining lines.

7. Learn the solution before chasing Par

First solve the puzzle reliably. Once the clue logic feels natural, replaying or practising can help you notice shorter routes. Par measures efficient swaps; it is not required to understand or enjoy the puzzle.
